Letter to Myself

Two Natures
Beware of Danger

Romans 8:6-7
So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

Romans 5:20
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more…

Jeremiah 31:3
the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
Jeremiah 31:3 ESV

Dear Self,

It’s high time you examine yourself. The desires of your heart, the purpose of your walk…
The inclinations of your mind, the judgement of your thoughts. Examine now the reasonings of your choices and the perceptions you have.

If you are awake this morning, If you are able to see a new day, it is because of the grace that has been afforded to you.
Don’t think light of your shortcomings. Don’t sweep them under the rug of pride nor the one of regret. Stop and surrender every thought and every purpose and every perception under the merciful hand of God. Repent for your errors. Remember from where He, your God, has delivered you. If you forget the joy of your salvation and fall back in to the thoughts of despair, if you surrender your heart to the desires of loneliness or peril, shame and guilt, you make Christ’s redemption appear null and void.

Dear self, come to a place where you let go of the considerations of the losses and come and allow God’s Holy Spirit to straighten your crooked paths.

Remember that to be carnally minded is enmity with God. Remember that you must be led of God’s Spirit and not of the feelings that are governed by the flesh.

You have been focused on the lacks and forgotten to look at the blessings. You have been enamored with ideas and no not with your God given purpose. You have fallen in love with your many possesions and these have become your passion. Oh come on self, you know better. The enemy has come to kill, steal and destroy… His desire is that you lose heart.
Yes, God knows you are weak at times. But allow His strength to be made perfect in your weakness. Yes, the Lord knows you are frail and often seem to feel as if though all was for naught. But I tell you, wake up.
As far as the east is from the west, the Lord has removed your sin from you.
As deep as the deepest part of the oceans, The Lord has disposed of your failures.

Yes, so, you failed in trusting him…
Yes, so you thought you forfeited all…
But the fact you opened your eyes today is reason enough to praise Him. Jesus, knew you would fail. He knew your hope at times appears to be ill founded. But His love is sufficient. His grace abounds. There is still time to say, Dear Lord, cleanse me afresh. His arm has not yet been shortened. Cry out, self. Call up on the name of the Lord.

Now, enough of that downing attitude. Remember the enemy wants to trip you up. Remember who God said you are.

You have been blood bought…
You have been restored to the Father.
You have been given the power to injure the enemy’s head. In Christ you are more than a conqueror. In Him you are the elect of God. You are chosen. You are wanted. You are loved. In Him you are cherished and desired. In Christ you are the head and not the tail. In Christ you can be fully rectified and jistified. You are Redeemed!!!

Self, remember that the afflictions of this life can not be compared to the glory that is to come. Now, stop doubting. Ask for a fresh beginning and surrender the flesh to the Power of the Holy Spirit. Die flesh. Christ live in me.

Say it out loud, Sin has no dominion. Over me. Though I fail, great is the Lord’s faithfulness.
Then hurry, get ready and go to be with those of like precious faith. There you will be reminded of the wonderful God you serve.
He will lift your head. He will renew you. He will empower you to be a witness and look outwardly for the need of others so you can bless them as you have been blessed.

Come on self, look up to the Hills from where comes your help. He does not slumber nor sleep. He is ever present to save.

So onward Christian soldier, March, press on, be vigilant and trust that He that began a good work will be faithful to complete it in you.

Sincerely,
Myself
