So You Want to Live On?

All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.
Ecclesiastes 1:8‭-‬11

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” Mathew 6:19-21

Today was spirit day at school. Students were asked to wear clothing attire from the 90’s.
The interesting thing was that as we looked and researched, We found that styles had Made a come back.
There were no real differences between what we saw then and what kids are wearing now.

“Hey, Ma! I don’t even have to buy anything. There are things in my closet that I can work with to make this look work.”

How true that statement is. Mankind has been the same for centuries. We may have progressed in technology. We may have progressed We may have believed that we progressed in knowledge.
But the truth is there is nothing new under the sun.

The most important things remain true today.

Our life purpose and desire to thrive, is a God given drive. Our inclination toward what is fulfilling and excellent and worthwhile, is all placed in us by God.

Youth is fleeting. Years go by, but mankind continues to have the same desires to re- invent themselves and create new things. Yet, all in all, our greatest need can only be filled by a relationship with the person of Jesus Christ.

He makes all things new 2 Corinthians 5:17

He transforms our funnel thinking. Our human capacity to reason, He ignited with the thoughts of Eternity.
The Lord has placed in us the desire for immorality.
This is not something new.

The pharaohs of Egypt built pyramids. They were even buried with all the artifacts necessary for an afterlife.

Some have even had their remains frozen after death, in order to be able to make a come back, when technology reaches a state of being able to do such a thing.

Mankind has become enamored with AI that is, artificial intelligence, believing it van be used to perpetuate life.

The truth, is it is not a warped idea. It is an idea placed in us by God. But only God can perform it.
You see, when Adam and Eve were created. As Male and female their instruction was to multiply and fill the earth. They were to reproduce themselves and continue perpetually in the presence of the Most High. Building for the Lord a people who would be constantly within a construct of relationship with the Creator.

Sin entered the world and damaged the relationship.
It damaged the connection. But the desire within the soul remained.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

The Lord’s desire to have communion with us has been established in every human heart.

He does however, give us free will. Thus, he does not force his connection.
He calls us.
The Pharoahs in Egypt, heard about the God of Israel.
They had the opportunity to come to faith. They rejected him and sought ideas of reincarnation.
A fallacy, since, the Lord alone can give life. He alone can bring the dead to life.
Wishing and hoping is not enough to get us to become those, who, receive eternal life.
Immortality will be there for every person. But the judgment will come.

Those who rejected Christ Jesus will be placed in a complete separation from the divine. They will not have access to mercy, nor to a relationship with God any longer. They will be cast off forever.

Those who commited their lives to Jesus Christ and believed He is the Son of God, born of a Virgin, and crucified on a Cross; dieing in place of every sinner (you and me and all humanity) and being raised from the dead, will be saved.
These will be granted the eternal gift of immortality and redemption. Salvation from the consequences and payment for sin.
We who believe will be goven access to the throne room of God, even now.

Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we have been made right. We have been brought in to a connection with the Father because fo His Son. He then seals our Salvation by sending us the Holy Spirit who continues the work of sanctification in us.
We continue to daily grow in faith and in understanding of God’s Word.
This then allows us to store treasure in heaven.
The works we do in Christ to further his kingdom and preach the good news of Jesus causes our heavenly account to be increased.

Oh, mortality is for this who choose to ignore Christ. Immortality is for those who ask Jesus to forgive their sin.
As we turn away from. Our past lives and follow Jesus, his image is perfected in us. His character begins to be seen in us.

As a child develops traits from their parents. So, we, when we are born again, and come to salvation, begin to mirror the fruits of the Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22 – 23

We begin to have a different mindset as we develop the mind of Christ.

But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord? Who will instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:15-16

The Apostle Paul puts it this way,
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:1‭-‬2

As we walk with newness of life in faith, we will begin to show forth the character traits of Jesus. We will begin to show forth kindness and mercy and love. We will live in truth and desire others to know the Life Changing Truth of The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The evidence of this is clearly seen as a believer desires to see others learn about the love of God.
Forgiveness and a lifestyle of service to the Lord becomes the norm.
It is not some religious experience. Nor is it mind over matter and just doing works of kindness. Not as some philanthropic effort. No, the transforming power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ empowers believers to become disciples. Not just spectators of some religion but those who exert their very lives in a commitment to the God of the Bible.

Every action and reaction is met with a desire to please the Lord. A genuine faith that is not hindered by the circumstances of life. No tragedy, no hardship, no illness, no loss can alter a faith that is grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

He is the Author of our Faith. He is the one whom we live for.

So sin abounds in the world. Crime is witnessed. Earthquakes, Wars, the rich get richer and the poor are always with us, but the Gospel of Jesus changes the sinner to a saint.
The Lord wipes away our sin and creates within us a new person who loves life and seeks to be a reflection of the love of God for others.

No, we are no better than anyone else by anything we have earned or have done.
We become children of God by trusting and believing and living our lives in a way to honor the Lord.
In and of ourselves we are not good enough. But in Christ we are chosen, delivered from sin.
The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

So, spirit day at school was met with outfits from today.
And the sins of the past can only be forgiven by the same Blood of Jesus that was shed 2000 years ago.
He love remains the same yesterday, today and forever.

For God so loved the world. That means you and that means me too.

Jesus Wants to gove you eternal life. Won’t you come and ask him to come in to your heart and restore you to a right relationship with the Father.

He will give You His Holy Spirit to help you commit to God and stay in line with the faith.
We cannot go it alone. We need the Lord to remain in the faith.

Jesus Saves. Jesus Restores. He alone can give us immortality.
