We walk around assessing our lives. Depending on how much we have grown or accomplished.
Some consider how much wealth the have accumulated. Others look at how many possesions they own.
Some look at how many years they have been in a field. Some look at their political postion. Others look at their network to ensure their position in life.
I assess 4 things.
How is my relationship with my Creator, my God and my Saviour?
Am I humble before The Lord? Do I show him gratitude and is my commitment consistent? Do I honor the Lord and serve him truly?
Do I really love God?
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.
Mark 12:30 ASV
Secondly, I look at, how do I relate to my parents? How is my relationship with my mom and dad? Can they trust that I will be constant and available? Can they count on me? Am I ungrateful and apathetic and coarse with them or am I kind and considerate and loyal to them?
God’s Word tells me I must honor them. (Exodus 20:12) It is the guarantee of a long life and the second way I must honor the Lord.
Thirdly, I ask myself, How am I contributing to the lives of those close to me and those who are in some way associated with me?
Do I shine the light of Jesus so others can see God’s love? DO I SERVE as Jesus served for the good of others, for God’s Glory? Or am I more concerned with what I will gain from some connection or interaction?
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
Mark 12:31
Lastly, I ask the Lord to help me to be whom He has called me to be. I know daily I fall short.
I do not always say the right words or have the right attitude. I know I am but clay and imperfect and need the Lord to constantly remind me that my life is meant to be to bring God honor and praise. To serve the Lord by serving others, should be my Modus Operandi understanding that as children of God and servants of God what we do, take part in and act on matters.
In considering all this, I comprehend that there is still much growing and learning and submitting and surrendering I have yet to do.
Lord, my prayer today is is,
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
May I continually live trusting in you and believing you are able to
Mold me in to the vessel you desire.
Youbare the Potter.
(Jeremiah 18).
Remind me Lord that I must live not by what my eyes see but by every word you have spoken.
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
Oh Lord cause me to draw ever closer to you understanding that to seek you first is what will please you.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
Mathew 6:33
Cause me to consider my days.
LORD, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.
Psalm 39:4
Cleanse me from thise things that easily make me stumble.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10
Lord I know I have failed in so many ways. Help me to be upright and to shine your light and to be salt in this world. May my words be wise and speak truth.
Let my speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that I may know how I ought to answer each person.
Colossians 4:6
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Mathew 5:14

Oh God, may my life matter for your glory’s sake. May my life lift up the name of Jesus.
For I was born for such a time as this….
In you Lord I am complete.
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Acts 17:28
Amen.
