15 For in You, O LORD, I hope;
You will hear, O Lord my God. 16 For I said, “Hear me, lest they rejoice over me,
Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me.”
17 For I am ready to fall,
And my sorrow is continually before me. 18 For I will declare my iniquity;
I will be in anguish over my sin. 19 But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong;
And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied. 20 Those also who render evil for good,
They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.
21 Do not forsake me, O LORD;
O my God, be not far from me! 22 Make haste to help me,
O Lord, my salvation!
Psalm 38:15-21
When in despair he waited. When in total isolation he waited.
When they spat in him, brat him, cursed him and placed a crown of thorns upon his head he waited.
He carried out sin upon himself as if it were his own sin. He waited.
He cried out to the Father on our behalf. He said, clearly, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. He waited. They mocked him.
39 One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!”
40 But the other responded, and rebuking him, said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our crimes; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” 43 And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 23: 39:-43
He waited. He waited there on the Cross without any inclination of changing his mind.
He waited for the last moment when all his blood would be poured out. He waited.
Death would surely come. He was sure of it.
He waited.
They pierced his side. They placed vinegar on a cloth for him to find some relief. He refused it. He waited. He took on all the pain and the hatred of those who shouted, crucify him. He waited. He felt their utter rejection and disdain.
He waited.
He felt the disconnect and the abandonment of the Father. He even said, “Father, why have you forsaken me?”
He felt surprise and fear and anxiety and despair. He felt loneliness and cold and the heat and the burning sensation that comes when one is beaten to the pulp. He felt shame as his naked body hung there as some great spectacle for all to see.
Yet he waited.
He could have called on all the angels of heaven to come to his aid. He could have used his power to destroy all who were present there, that day.
He waited.
Patiently he waited.
He waited until every single drop was poured out. Then finally, he took his last inhale and exhaled his last breath.
Jesus, waited. He did not give up. Not for one moment did he hesistate while on that cross.
Doubt had crossed his mind while in the Garden of Gethsemane. He had told the Father , if there is another way, pasz this cup from me. But ultimately he surrendered every fear anf doubt to the will of the Father.
He was fully commited to the outcome. The cross had to happen. The blood had to be poured out.
Death had to come.
Jesus paid is all. He gave his life for you and me.
Today His desire is still the same. He sits at the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf. He continues to say, Father forgive them for they know not what they do.
He reveals his love by way of His Word.
He demonstrates his mercy by way if His Resurrection. His grace is fully given as, He alone rose from that grave. He is the victor. He has overcome the grave and hell and sin.
Nothing can separate us from his love.
Romans 8 says it best.
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
In his death and resurrection we can obtain Eternal Life.
His love is sufficient. His mercy for sure. His power to cleanse us from all our wrongdoings is sure. He who could have easily cast us away has chosen to redeem us. Wash away our sins and restore us to the Father.
Oh How Marvelously played out. His patience was long. He waited and waited.
Today, He waits for you. His desire is that none should be lost.
He made himself an offering and a sacrifice for us.
He will give us this life if we accept him.
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
If we come to Christ Jesus he will in no way cast us out. No He will forgive and give us newness of life.
Nothing can separate us from his love when we believe and trust and follow him.
And when we follow him, we wait for his return. And His Holy Spirit comes to live in us. And we wait with great expectation for the day when we will see him face to face. KNOWING fully we HAVE BEEN SET FREE FROM SIN.
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 8:24-27
WE CAN LIVE PATIENTLY AWAITING FOR HIS GOODNESS AMD MERCY TO FOLLOW US ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Because He is THE GOOD SHEPHERD. Psalm 23
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. Romans 8:28-30
He chose us since before the world began. He decided a long time ago to reach you and me and save us from the sin that would be present in this time.
God’s Everlasting love reached us just in time.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor (BE)principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Today He still waits for all who will come and accept his love and forgiveness. He waited and sits at the right hand of the Father.
He waits for those yet to believe.
He waits with love and also with expectancy. He wait for the Father to call for the Trumpet of God to sound.
When every believer eill be lifted up and meet with him in the clouds.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
I pray you would come and know Jesus.
