” I have learned to kiss the wave that slams me into the rock of ages.” Charles Sturgeon
The adversity has brought me to recognize my need of thee.
The tragedy has made me come to terms with my own frailty.
The moment of lack has made me aware that apart from thee Lord, I can do nothing.
The sorrow has brought me to that place of weakness where my eyes have witnessed the fact that tomorrow is not promised.
I am cognizant that I am lacking…
This to some is a hardship.
Thou word, Lord, hast taught me…
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:10
Thy word has shown me that to hunger and thirst for thy presence is best. For humility draws me ever closer to thee. Yet in my pride, I have been alienated from thee.
I seek thee first knowing all things, I may have need of, thou wilt supply according to your riches in glory.
I bow before thee yet I am secure in thee. Thou art the Lifter of mine head.
Oh the richness of thy Word.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So, in turning away from my own personal and lustfull desires I have been brought to repentance. Here I have received the gift of Eternal life, peace and joy, forgiveness and newness of life. My mind has been renewed and my heart made whole.
I can see that through each trail and through each valley thy grace and mercy have brought me ever closer to thy truth.
Thou hast loved me beyond my faults, beyond my fears and beyond my weaknesses. In thee this child has the assurance of perseverance.
