GUARD MY LIPS LORD

Lord, Guard My Words

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

We all often speak things that hopefully bless and encourage and bring comfort and encouragement being kind to others.

There are times we must use words to bring correction or to confront a matter.
Words are tools we have in order to communicate effectively.

We do not always use them wisely.  Yet, how
we use them will determine at times, the outomes.

I am guilty of not always saying what I should. For this reason, I have often allowed people to walk all over me. I have been offended many times and have not responded in kind.

At other times, I have spoken truths in a way that has been too harshly.
I have offended others because I waited too long to speak my mind. Then the result has been that I have hurt others.
At other times I have all been misunderstood.  I have also misunderstood others.
I am not perfect. None of us is. I do not hold grudges. I am one of those people who cannot have peace unless, I know I have tried what I could to make peace.

Truth be told, we cannot always have a closeness with everyone we would like.
When we try to please everyone we wind up pleasing no one at all.

The one we must always try to please is The Lord.

In this, I am sure, at times I have utterly failed.

The one thing that keeps me hopeful is that forgiveness is what makes the difference. Patience grows in adversity and trials.
Iron Sharpens Iron.
For this reason I look to God’s word. I humble myself before God and I ask the Lord to help me to gusrd my lips, that I may speak life.

I pray the Lord will guard the hearts of those whom I may have offended and not allow there to grow any bitterness.

I ask the Lord to bring wholeness and clarity. and heal hearts. I ask God to have mercy on them and on me.

We all need the same things. We need the Lord to hold us in the hollow of his hand. We need his strength and his grace to make it through each day.

Back in the day a child’s mouth might be washed with soap when they spoke in an inappropriate way.

Today I pray you Lord will take the words of this Psalm and make them my own.

Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You.
Psalms 51:6‭-‬13
This I pray for me Oh Lord.

And for you my brother and my sister, I pray this,

I pray you are well.
Well in spirit and filled with God’s love.
Well in mind, renewing your mind in His word.

Well in health, rememebering that your body is the temple of God’s Holy Spirit.
Well in hope, knowing that these earthly trials cannot be compared for the glory that is to come.

I pray you are blessed in every area of life.

I pray your head is lifted up.

I pray you look to the hills from where your help comes from.

I pray you can rejoice in Christ in the midst of your affliction.

I pray that you may know you know you are more than a conqueror in Christ.

I pray for your peace because we know that our minds are kept in perfect peace when we have our minds stayed on Him.

I pray for you to have joy and hope and strength in the midst of your weakness.

I pray for a fresh anointing and for your heads to be lifted high and your heart fixed on things above.

I pray for the scales of doubt to be removed  and that you would have  sight to see God’s hand in everything that relates to your life.

I pray that the knowledge of the glory of God carries you through this time and all the days of your life.

This is my prayer for you.
