Even This Trial Has a Purpose

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. (1 Peter 4:12-14)
We face trials sometimes that are seemingly unbearable. We face moments when we have to face the Goliaths of this life and we can either cower and run, or we can be like David ans stand. David did not have support from the army. Even the King had tried to make him ill equipped for the challenge. But David took a stand and used the only resources he had. He had God on his side and he had a sling shot and a small stone.
God saw the effort. God blessed his hand and his resource and brought him the victory. But after this, David suffered many things at the hand of King Saul. There was attempts made to end his life. He was mishandled and had to run. He found himself even in caves. But the Lord God of Isreal gave him the victory. Eventually he did become king.
We may be seeing life as a series of battles. We step out of one trial to enter the next. We may feel we have reached a peak to find out now, we are in the desert. But rest assured, the process is necessary.
David could not become king until he had passed his testings. We cannot be handed what the Lord has for us to do until we have gone through.
God must strip us of any selfish or prideful mindset.
We must relinquish our lives into his mighty hands. When we humbly come and render all to his authority willingly then, He does the impossible. Then God performs that which He promised.
When we are faithful in the little he will bless us abundantly.
But trials, persecutions and accusations, put downs and being belittled are all part of the process.
If we suffer for His sake we are blessed because in due time we will reap what we have sown.
The Lord is processing us like the oil in the olive press. It must be crushed and pressed until every last ounce is squeezed out. But the product of this process will mean the oil is fine and good for use.
We are pressed, crushed and remade. Like the Potter took the vessel and broke it and then remade it into another vessel.
Thus the Lord will do to everyone who is to be used of Him.
Lord, crush my life. Make me again. Take every ill part out and replace your desire in me. Make me useful for your glory. This is my desire, to please you my God.
