Give Me the Real Thing

May you experience the Authentic and not Man’s Manipulation

Its a scary time when walking in to some churches looks like walking in to a night club. It is a sad time when the lights at an altar resemble those on the stage of some worldy band.
It is quiet unsettling when people must be entertained to be able to stay in a service.

No, sadly, too many have succumbed to the going trends.

Psychological manipulation and mimicking the worlds standards does not mean you have been moved by God’s Spirit.
It means you are being handled.

The Bible says,

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:44

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:21

We can have some religious experience and feel goose bumps when some specific notes and chords are played.
It is no different than Music Therapy. It can change the body’s responses and cause one to feel calm or elated and focused. It is used on cancer patients and on those suffering with depression or terminal illness. It can elevate mood and create a sense of wellbring. In truth it is a tool to help manage the things we cannot change.

But when it comes to God’s Spirit. It can cause a drunk person to leave his drunken state and sober up. It can make an addict never touch drugs again. It can transform a person who has been mistreated and abandoned and rejected in to a child of God who knows their worth and their value in God.

It does not require external stimulation to excite the heart. It is God’s presence that convicts us of sin. It brings us to repentance and then lifts us up to understand we are precious in God’s sight.

It heals the broken-hearted and mends the one whose memories have been their downfall. God’s presence is capable of giving us newness of life as we are transformed in knowing and having a relationship with Jesus Christ.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I John 1:9

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
II Corinthians 5:17‭-‬19

The Lord causes us to then live with his presence within us on the daily. He remains with us. Day in and day out.

We do not need external prompts. We can know the Lord is present always.

You can’t manufacture that kind of life experience with some lights and some musical entertainment.

He saves us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5

Not every one who says they have the Lord has him.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

When we know the Lord it is a morning till night experience.
We come to live our days with expectancy. We are thrilled to know every day, and in every place, the Lord is with us.

By this, we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

We walk through life’s struggles knowing that eveything will work together for our good. Even the things that are hard and sad and rough to go through, are made easier and more manageable when we walk in God’s true light.

We are not walking in circumstancial experiences that end when the music stops.
We are walking in faith knowing that nothing can separate from the love of God. (Romand 8).
We walk knowing, there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

The thing is, our feelings and emotions are not based on some type of external provoking. No, Our faith and God’s presence living inside of us, helps us to face the loss and the sorrow and the lacks, the triumphs and the successes and each and every moment of life in Him.

We are not different because we do or practice certain things.
No, we are Transformed,
in and through our connection and the life giving power of the Holy Spirit, living inside of us. This is why, we sing at a funeral. This is why, we can say, It is well with my soul, even when a loved one passes on, or we lose a job or we face some sad diagnosis. Our relationship with the Lord enables us to be content snd to trist the Lord in every circumstance.

You cannot make this up or conjure up this kind of Daily Interaction.  When the lights go out and everything is quiet, there is still a song of praise in our minds. Regardless of the issues of life, we can know The Lord is Present with us.

The Lord loves us so much He longs to have fellowship with us.
He desires to be one with us. Indwelling us at all times, healing every hurt and consoling and guarding our hearts.

Oh these poor folks, you can keep your lights and your smoke screens. Keep your manipulations and your rhythms.  I pray not.

Give Me Jesus

Let me have a simple old time gospel believing church with one guitar and no microphone. Or it can be on an altar with a hundred voices who have commited their hearts and lives in repentance and humbly to the God of all, but Give me true Worship. Unaltered by the lights. Unaltered by the hypnotic phrasing or seducing tones. Give me true heartfelt adoration that takes me beyond the ordinary in to the heavenly. Praise that brings us to our knees is what I want. It is what we need.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Forgive us Lord for often times giving you less than what you have asked for. We cannot imoress you. Every talent and every ability is yours. You made us and geve these to us.

The only thing you require is a surrendered heart and a humbled and contrite spirit.

Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10

Since, we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
2 Corinthians 7:1

But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.
1 John 2:27

Whatsoever a man ssoweth that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Galatians 6:7-8

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Mathew 6:33

Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
Isaiah 55:6

May you be able to testify this,

For he said, “I have answered you in an acceptable time and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the acceptable time, and behold, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2

May you know the Authentic Presence of God’s Holy Spirit and may you never want anything else.

May you be Satisfied with the Real Thing anf not some counterfeit. True Faith Must Be Authentic, when it is it filld every void.
