Don’t envy evil people, and don’t long to be with them. Their hearts are focused on violence, and their lips speak of trouble. By wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established. By knowledge rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant wealth. A wise person is mightier than a strong one; a knowledgeable person than a powerful one. You should make war with guidance; victory comes with many counselors. Wisdom is beyond foolish people. They don’t open their mouths in the gate. Those who plot evil will be called master schemers. The scheming of fools is sin; people detest mockers. If you show yourself weak on a day of distress, your strength is too small. Rescue those being taken off to death; and from those staggering to the slaughter, don’t hold back. If you say, “Look, we didn’t know about it,” the one who weighs hearts—doesn’t he understand? The one who protects your life—he knows. He makes people pay for their actions. My child, eat honey, for it is good. The honeycomb is sweet in your mouth. Know that wisdom is like that for your whole being. If you find it, there is a future. Your hope won’t be cut off. The righteous may fall seven times but still get up, but the wicked will stumble into trouble. Indeed, there is no future for the evil; the lamp of the wicked will be put out. Fear the LORD, my child, as well as the king. Don’t associate with those who are rebellious. Disaster comes suddenly from them. Who can know the ruin that both can bring?
Proverbs 24:1‭-‬14‭, ‬16‭, ‬20‭-‬22 CEB

So, they looked at her and did not like her, she said. They thought nothing of amusing themselves by ridiculing her. They thought that they could put her down. With their words, they set out and wanted to wound her.

That morning she had prepared well for her day. She had read her Word. That very morning she had read,

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 5:3‭-‬12

She understood her fight was not against the ones who had put her down. They were simply puppets in the enemy’s hands. Pawns led by the devil to attack her. She was familiar with scripture, (Ephesians 6).

He sat there at work. He was diligent in his dealings. He treated people with respect. He was not so interested in his commission.  He was more interested in seeing the clients happy with their purchase.  He was not desperately pushing them to buy the most expensive merchandise. No, he wanted them to buy what they could afford. He was careful to listen anf to understand their needs for what they wanted to buy. Filling the need was more important than making a buck.

He understood, what scripture tells us,

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33

He knew God’s word well. He was not enamoured with wealth. He was dedicated to pleasing his Lord. A man of integrity and of wisdom. He will surely be one that the Lord blesses always.

She sat there complaining. Keeping secrets from her parents. She had more secrets and more to tell of all the issues others were facing. The girl loved to tell a tale. She was what one calls a chatty Cathy.  She woukd ask many questions and seem to befriend someone. Then She would chit and chat about all their weaknesses to another.

She heard the word. She grew up with the Word. But the application of it was far from her daily practice. Sadly, she had not allowed the Word to transform her.

She hurt people, she too walked around with a constant sense of not feeling worthy.  Thus, she followed that creed… Misery loves Comoany.

The boy was easily tempted. He saw the girls and felt compelled to get close to them.  He did not look at possible consequences. He just was thinking about instant gratification. He was, deep inside, full of pride.  He was deep inside, feeling empty and without true purpose. Thus he walked about like a prowler stealing lives and wrecking hearts. His life is doomed for destruction, but there is still hope for him in Jesus. He can be made a new.

She stood there thinking nothing could go wrong. Oblivious of the many ways in which she had followed the crowd. She did not have her own identity. She was always looking for the next outfit, the next kicks, the next accesory to make her feel she had worth. She his behind her materials. Yes that material girl. Deep inside she was empty and void of knowledge. She may have known the latest fashion but she was never truly satisfied.  You see, fads change. Styles change. Music changes. Keeping up with it all was exhausting. Poor girl. But there is hope for her in Christ. If she chooses to come to Christ, her life will be made whole.

The purpose for living is found in the person of Jesus Christ. The young man thrives when he seeks to please God. He becomes a man of substance and of wisdom. He is able to plan for the future and knows when to reserve his words, his time and his wealth. He does not squander. He knows his peace is found in his relationship with Christ. He allows the Lord to direct snd lead him. He is not up one day and down the next. Though he has trials, as we all do, He finds his stability in God’s word.

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

I am afflicted very much; Revive me, O Lord, according to Your word.
Psalms 119:107

He knows where to turn in the day of distress. He honors his parents and listens carefully to godly counsel. He is not easily swayed by negative thoughts. He trust s in the Lord.

That young lady, she is eager to do well in all her endeavors. She studies and she prays. She cries before the Lord and does not complain. She clings to the Lord when she is afraid. Then she finds, that He makes her brave.  She seeks to know more and more and does not wait for i struction from the pulpit alone. She dives in deep in to the Word. She writes her thoughts and prays to the Lord.

Help me God, I can’t do this alone. Others have abandoned. Others have turned away. Lord no one seeks you. Help me God to be one who stays focused on you.

She seeks counsel. She does not lean on her own understanding. No, she acknowledges she is in constant need of God’s presence each day. Proverbs 3:5-6

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.        Psalm 119:9

The young stable man… That young wise young lady…

They are not better than you or me. They have no greater worth and they are not perfect.

They have dark days too. They too, had a past and one of despair. Their hope was found in Christ. They have peace in knowing He has forgiven their sin and given them a newness of life. Now their Days of insecurities and doubt, Days of feeling alone and left out. When they feel the pull of their peers and they also feel anger and fear. They know where to turn…

They Are Secure.

So, What’s their secret?

They bow before the Lord daily. They acknowledge their need. They do not think they can go it alone. They cling to the rock that is higher than they are. They go under the shadow of the Almighty. They desire better to please God than to please men.

They have found the secret of true Success.

To Know that Every Good and Perfect Gift Comes sfrom the Father fo Lights. (James 1:17)

They have learned that to be put down by others makes them more like Christ. As he was hated by his own people. Yet he persevered un to the Cross and then the Empty Tomb.

They have learned to Delight themselves also in the Lord: and he shall gives them the desires of their hearts. (Psalm 37:4).

They have commited to the way of the Lord;  and they trust in him; and he brings His will to be manifested in their lives.

That is why, for the sake of Christ, they say like Paul said,

I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10

So, whether at school or whether at play, whether at work or in the house of the Lord; we too, can seek to follow the Lord. To move as He guides and to seek his face can be our delight.

We can aspire to be an Esther or a Man like David, one after God’s own heart. We too, can be victorious and turn away from our negative mindset and surrender every part fo our lives to Christ.

They have learned to renew their minds in God’s Word.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

He can transform us through His Word. He can empower us through His Holy Spirit. We can live a life that is rewarding  knowing our purpose and identity comes from our proximity to Christ Jesus.

So, we can all grow and not remain the same. We too, can be wise and prosperous in faith and in this life, as we, follow Christ. The Apostle Paul puts it this way;

“For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you…

” and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”
Colossians 2:1‭-‬10 NKJV

You and I can be made whole. We can be made complete in Him who called us un to His marvelous light. His life in us can empower us to thrive as believers and follow in the footsteps he already prepared for you and me.

We Are The Beloved Of God

So, I close with this…

God desires to be close. He longs for that place in the center of your life. He must be first. And then He will bless beyond measure. His will will bring us much joy. Even in trials we will not be abandoned but made to stand in Him. We will then be Lights that Shine his Love and Mercy and Grace in those around us. So we can be sure of Our Election in Him.

“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
Philippians 1:6
