A Prayer for Revival

This letter is from John to the seven churches in the province of Asia. Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us. He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see him— even those who pierced him. And all the nations of the world will mourn for him. Yes! Amen! “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”

We await your coming Lord…
We await the day when you shall return…
We long for the moment when we will see you face to face.

Yet in the mean time Lord,
Ready your church…
Make ready your people.
Renew your Spirit among the ones you love.
Cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Make the Sprinkled one be washed yet afresh.
For the stains of the path have hindered some. Their eyes have been clouded by the things of this earth.
Their hearts have become weary and their minds have seen your coming afar off.
The stressors of life have pressed in,
They have stumbled along the way.

Yet today your arm is still outstretched.
Today is still the day of Salvation.
Today judgment has not yet come.
Today the door is still open.
Today the Crimson Flow Still Atones for sin.
Today You stand at the door and knock.
Today you still draw us by your Holy Spirit.
Oh awaken the ones who have fallen asleep. Oh revive your people.
May the fervor of your Spirit ignite the flame that is still flickering within the hearts.

Forgive our wayward hearts.
Forgive our stumbljng.
Forgive the error of our ways.
Draw us back to the foot of the Cross.
Let us be Sprinkled Again.
Look up on your children
and remember we are made of dust.
Look at us with pity and note our frailty.
For You alone can Save.
You Alone can Restore.
You Alone can Bring to us back,
The years the Canker Worm has eaten.

Lord have mercy on your people.
Restore the joy of your Salvation. Bring us back to the understanding that we are chosen.
A royal priesthood, a peculiar people…
Not to be like the world, but to be the Salt of the earth.

Let us be filled by your Holy Spirit afresh
So we may be able to continue being that witness to those yet to come in to your Fold.
Oh we your sheep have been elected.
We your children need you Lord.
Empower us to live victorious lives…
That we may draw others to your side.

This I pray, This very day, Oh Lord.
