Love is Still There

Love does not fade because of some distance.
It does not whither because of a disagreement. Love is constant, even in pain.
Love holds no grudges.
Love forgives. Love allows for reconciliation but does not hold to the past.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
I Corinthians 13:4-8
I can’t turn it on and off. I have been hurt and been treated poorly.
Hasn’t everyone. No one is exempt. We have all been let down by someone. Whether blood related because of a heart connection… we have all been wounded.
Its the game of life.
But I admire those who through it all still manage to hold on to hope.
A hope for a better tomorrow.
Hope for mercy will come fresh in the morning.
I look to those who have not allowed the weight of depression set in.
Hey, we have all been there. We have been kicked to the curb a time or two. We may have been overlooked, passed over or ignored.
It can and does happen to the best of people and the worst of people alike.
Yet, Today I point out that the cloak, that mantle, that heavy blanket of distress is what we must choose to take off.
God will not do what you are supposdd go do.
God will not help a person who chooses to remain down. Its like some people prefer to look at the ground.
Scripture tells me to look to the hills where my help will come from. Psalm 121:1
Scripture tells me…
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33
Scripture tells me to go get it… yes it does…
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8
My role is defined by my proximity to the One who Called me from Darkness in to light.
The more I learn of Him, the more I can fulfill his call in my life.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
II Corinthians 5:17-20 if I am forgiven and reconciled to the Father then I too must be a new creation. I must live as He did.
He forgave us. JESUS gave himself for us.
He renews us and causes us to be able to forgive. He allows us to grow in the grace he has given to us.
He has given us a new beginning.
If so, then I too must hold to this commandment…
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34-35
I cannot love you if I hold a grudge against you. I cannot say I love God and hate my brother.
This does not mean we remain in a relationship that is toxic or dangerous. If we are in danger then we must try to keep safe.
But even to that one qho has hurt us, we can ask the Lord to save them. To bring them to a place of Repentance.
Jesus said…
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Matthew 5:43-45
Love is the common denominator of life.
When we have understood how much we are loved then we can love the unlovely.
We can forgive the unforgivable.
This again does not mean that you allow harm to damage you or your home or the ones you love.
I am referring to those whom you know that have hurt you personally on some level.
Looking at them the qay the Lord does means you comprehend their need for a Savior.
When people do evil things they demonstrate that they have no connection to God.
When hurt people hjrt others it is a perpetual cycle that in turn harms more people.
God is the equalizer. His loves conquers all.
Love covers a multitude of sins.
Jesus came so that the works of darkness in us could eradicated. I mean He came to set ceptive minds free.
To heal thw brokenhearted is his ultimate desire.
He loves you with an everlasting love, flaws and all.
I deserved no mercy. I was the onw who ran away from Him. I ran from the faith of my Parents.
But the mercy and love and grace of God reached me. He had pity on me. He saw how my hurts and unforgiveness was destroying me.
He saw how tough I tried to be but how fragile my heart truly was.
He allowed me thw space to be angry, confused, hurt and helpless. Then He lifted me up from that palce of despair.
I had to concede. I had to lift the heavy blanket off of myself. He gave the the strength to choose.
I then chose Him. This empowered me to take off thw chains of bitterness. The hatred for thise who had hurt mw. He allowed me the time to learn from His Word and discover that Love is thw best Option.
Mercy is the best outcome.
Reconciliation is the best response to the call of God to mend our hearts.
Oh, my words fail me. I cannot fully express How Much this Matters!
I am loved. This imperfect woman who had failed God is loved by This Perfect, Matchless, Marvelous, Wonderful, Forgiving God.
Let go of the hurts.
Come be made anew. Let His Love Shine Through!
You will be Better for it!
