So, What Will I Pray?
Holy Spirit Lead Me In Prayer.
Published by Sister Deborah Negron
I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea. “But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.”
Habakkuk 2:1-4, 14, 20
O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy. God came from Teman, The Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens, And the earth was full of His praise. His brightness was like the light; He had rays flashing from His hand, And there His power was hidden. Before Him went pestilence, And fever followed at His feet. He stood and measured the earth; He looked and startled the nations. And the everlasting mountains were scattered, The perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting. O Lord, were You displeased with the rivers, Was Your anger against the rivers, Was Your wrath against the sea, That You rode on Your horses, Your chariots of salvation? Your bow was made quite ready; Oaths were sworn over Your arrows. Selah You divided the earth with rivers. The mountains saw You and trembled; The overflowing of the water passed by. The deep uttered its voice, And lifted its hands on high. The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; At the light of Your arrows they went, At the shining of Your glittering spear. You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled the nations in anger. You went forth for the salvation of Your people, For salvation with Your Anointed. You struck the head from the house of the wicked, By laying bare from foundation to neck. Selah You thrust through with his own arrows The head of his villages. They came out like a whirlwind to scatter me; Their rejoicing was like feasting on the poor in secret. You walked through the sea with Your horses, Through the heap of great waters. When I heard, my body trembled; My lips quivered at the voice; Rottenness entered my bones; And I trembled in myself, That I might rest in the day of trouble. When he comes up to the people, He will invade them with his troops. Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.
Habakkuk 3:2-6, 17-19.
When my ears hear bad news…
When the pressures of life seem to press me to the point I am wearied and feel overwhelmed…
When the words I hear are disorienting and my faith wears thin,
I will remember who is still on the throne.
I will recall His goodness and His faithfulness.
I will think on the days when my heart was light and my mouth spoke of your mercy. I will recall the songs of jubilation an the songs of praise.
I will choose to dwell on the mercies of God and how You My Lord have been with me in every season of my life.
Your word is faithful.
Your love is true. You will not abandon the work of your hands. Though as the Potter you choose the break me and fashion me again.
I will wait on you.
For the expectation of my heart is to be more like you.
That the image of the Son will be the image that is reflected in me.
Just as the moon has no light of it’s own and yet it gives light in the darkness by reflecting the very light of the sun.
So, let my light so shine before men that they may glorify you Lord.
Let me be the mirror that reflects your loving kindness and the truth of your word.
Oh God, let the Gospel of Christ be in my every conversation.
Let my words point others to the hope that is found in having a relationship with you.
You are my strength.
You are my hope.
You are the lifter of my head.
You are still in control.
In the midst of every Adversity I know all things will work together for my good and the good of those who truly seek you.
Oh, God, fools have placed a stone in my path. Fools have tried to thwart your purpose for me. But I will cling to the one who holds my heart secure.
I do not pray for their destruction. I much rather see them bow down to you in Repentance.
Rather than seeing them fall, I would prefer they are reconciled to you.
For your desire is that none should perish.
Your love is for the ones who are lost to be found.
So, though they have spoken wrongly against me. Though they have sought to harm. I choose to obey your word and love those who have become my enemies.
I choose to pray for their souls.
I pray for them to be delivered and for your name to be exalted in their lives.
Jesus, intervene. Jesus by your Holy Spirit cause the scales to fall from their eyes. Let them see the error of their ways and turn to you.
For surely, you will save. Your arms are is still outstretched. Your mercy is still able to restore and make new.
Bring their wayward hearts back to you.
God almighty, reach each one of them.
For my desire is yours.
To see the generations of your people return to you..
To see the blind made to see. To witness the broken made right and the ones who have been on the wrong path return to the narrow way.
Oh Lord, Oh Father,
In your wrath and judgment remember your mercy. In your punishment of sin, remember the Blood.
Oh Lord Jesus, I intercede. As you sit at the right hand of the Father interceding for us, I join you in prayer. Make right those who walk blindly. Show them the error of their ways.
Bring them to the Rock that is Higher.
Forgive them, Oh Lord.
I will wait in anticipation for the glory of God to be seen in them and in me. I will wait on you, for your mercy never fails.
You began a good work and will be faithful to complete it. I will wait on you Lord. This very Morning… this is my prayer.
I wait on you.
