Time to check… to look within…. Time to examine and see… Self check time… Its High Time.

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
Colossians 3:1-11
Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Philippians 2:1-4
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 18:21
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

Every so often, it’s a good thing to conduct a self evaluation.
A looking in the mirror of God’s word, and see how we fair.
Do our lives match up?
Are there areas to grow in. Have we been wise in our actions and words? Has there been hypocrisy?
Do we truly love one another?
Or have we gone through the motions?
Our lives are in a balance. We will either weigh in as light and the weight of our sin will be little and under the blood or we will weigh in as heavy and full of deceit.
We can present an image of goodness and love. We can show forth a view that people look at and are caused to think all is well. But we cannot fool the reflection in the mirror of God’s word.
When compared to it we fall short. All of us us have fallen short of the glory of God. We have failed miserably from time to time.
In this season, it is time to take off the falsehoods. We need to consider our own hearts. Not what others may think of us. Instead, what does God think of us. How do I fair when I look deeply into that mirror?
Oh Lord, where is our heart? Have we caused others to see you?
Or are we enamoured with the false projection?
Are we truly commited to serving you? Or is what people think about us more important?
Do we sit in and sip the wine of sin, in order to fit in?
Would we rather be surrounded by people than found in your presence?
Are we more interested in having someone to talk to, than to bend the knees and pray, laying all our burdens on you, oh God?
Have our words hurt someone, injured their hearts and caused them pain?
Have we been cautious to think of others and esteem them higher than ourselves?
Have we been genuine in our seeking of you, oh God?
Or have we only run to you when we have been in crisis?
Lord, I know that every idle word I have communicated to others will be weighed.
I know that my actions will have a consequence.

Lord, as I look in the mirror of your word, cause my heart to be cleansed. Cause my mind to be Renewed.
We all fall short. I know I need your grace.
I love David. He definitely failed. He definitely made some serious mistakes. He practiced sin on occasions. But he understood that Repentance was the only way to be made right.
We have all said things we may regret. We may have acted in ways that showed no mercy and no grace. Lord forgive our wayward hearts. Turn us back to you!!!!
Lord, I echo these words….
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You.
Psalms 51:10-13
Lord may we not be found wonting. May you draw us ever nearer. May we please you with our speech, our writing, our thinking and our actions. May we not inder others in any way.
Lord have mercy on us today.
