A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother; For they will be a graceful ornament on your head, And chains about your neck. My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent. If they say, “Come with us, Let us lie in wait to shed blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause; Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, And whole, like those who go down to the Pit; We shall find all kinds of precious possessions, We shall fill our houses with spoil; Cast in your lot among us, Let us all have one purse”— My son, do not walk in the way with them, Keep your foot from their path; For their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed blood. Proverbs 1:5, 7-19
My son, pay attention to my wisdom; Lend your ear to my understanding, That you may preserve discretion, And your lips may keep knowledge. For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, And He ponders all his paths. His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, And he is caught in the cords of his sin. He shall die for lack of instruction, And in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Proverbs 5:1-2, 21-23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:1-5
That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:9-13
This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 3:2-6
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
John 3:16-21
Oh, if you only knew an understood.
If only you would look upwards. Look the the hills from our help comes from. (Psalm 121:1-2)
Come and turn away from the life of the Merry go round…
You know what I mean.
Come on, the life that gives you a moment of pleasure and days of despair. Nothing satisfies though you have tried it all.
Fun and activities leisure and rest…
None of it fulfills the longings of the soul.
Some gain power, position and then greed and a sense of I can do whatever I want. I am beyond the law.
Fools. The Bible says what ever a person plants, that is sows, that is what h will reap.
You cannot gather apples from a grapevine.
The choices we have made will lead us to a destination for sure. But where that will be is up to you and me.
Corruption sleeps with greed. Position lies down with deceit. The outcomes will be self destruction.
There is no way out. There is good and there is evil.
The Word of God says, There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. Even in laughter the heart may sorrow, And the end of mirth may be grief. The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, But a good man will be satisfied from above. The simple believes every word, But the prudent considers well his steps. A wise man fears and departs from evil, But a fool rages and is self-confident. A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, And a man of wicked intentions is hated. The simple inherit folly, But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
Proverbs 14:12-18
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Psalms 14:1-2
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before,
Acts 3:19-20
Imagine, you will come out of darkness and experience true joy nota momentary happiness that depends on what is happening.
Joy is much greater. It is a sense of hope and wellbeing regardless of the issues we may be going through in this life.
God’s strength is not dependent on our strength or lack of it..
We only need to trust and believe in Jesus and we receive this joy that sustains us in good times and in the bad times as well.
We come in to a state of peace that comes when you are in a right relationship with the God of the Universe, the Creator of all things.
Jesus becomes the light that shines in your life. We then experience the knowledge of his goodness. We come to understand that he has ordered our steps in such a way we came to believe and trust him.
Oh, if you could only know Jesus and the indwelling peace and rest we can experience in his presence.
Regardless of the sins of our past. He offers us forgiveness. He is the only way and the truth and the Life.
My Daddy lived for Jesus all his life. And even when he lay in a bed with his body riddled with cancer, my Dad was at peace. He would ask us to sing and to worship in the midst of his pain.
When nothing could ease his suffering, He was able to rest and have hope in His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I am convinced and commited to Jesus as well. I have had my run of bad choices and paying for my mistakes. I have known Hiw sin can harm us and how Christ can restore us.
His desire is that no one perish.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3:9
Though he wants to save humanity, He is still just God. He will not allow evil to reign and expand forever. The day of Judgment will come. We will all have to give an account for our decision. Do we choose Him or Not.
Scripture states,
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. II Peter 3:10
Jesus is returning.
The Father…
“has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.”
John 5:27-29
Only those who have had their sins covered by the sacrifice of Jesus will be found blameless. They will be found NOT GUILTY.
All others will face the condemnation and judgment for their own decision to reject him.
God is a God of justice and mercy. But we must choose.
The days are short. What we decide today will be the path we continue on.
The ball is in your court. The compass is in your hand. Let Jesus be your North.
Won’t you choose Him today.
