Its Time To Examine Ourselves

It’s Time to Examine Ourselves published by Deborah Negron M.A.

It is not how you got to your destination but rather who you held on to a long the way.
We have many going on journeys of greatness who have climbed the ladder of success by stepping on the hearts of others.
One day they will stand before the judgment seat of Christ. They will be judged for every ill word ever spoken about their fellow man.
They will be judged for every lie they ever spoke and every word of slander they told someone.

This behooves us to consider our ways. Guard our tongues. Hold fast to the truth and ask the Lord, even now to examine us. This should be reason enough for us to humble ourselves and ask God to reveal to us our errors and cleanse us from all sin.
Turn back not for a moment, ask God to reveal to us by his Holy Spirit and if need be ask those we have harmed for forgiveness.

This also reminds us that, tomorrow is not promised to any of us. In light of this, we ought to make things right.

The world will know we are His not by the confession of our faith but by the forgiveness we show others, the love we demonstrate and the ability to bow the head and heart and humble ourselves.

The great man we know of, as King David, had the right kind of heart. He knew how to be humble and repent. He knew how to ask for forgiveness. He also knew how to show others mercy. May we be like him.

Psalm 51:10-12
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
