It Must Be So…
If you have been set free…
You must set captives free.

And he said to me, “Son of man, eat whatever you find here. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he gave me this scroll to eat. And he said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly with this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey. And he said to me, “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with my words to them. For you are not sent to a people of foreign speech and a hard language, but to the house of Israel— not to many peoples of foreign speech and a hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, if I sent you to such, they would listen to you. Moreover, he said to me, “Son of man, all my words that I shall speak to you receive in your heart, and hear with your ears. And go to the exiles, to your people, and speak to them and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God ,’ whether they hear or refuse to hear.” Ezekiel 3:1-6, 10-11 ESV
It is so easy to speak to those who will listen.
Easier still, to speak to those who will follow your advice.
It is easy to speak to those who like you and and admire you.
Easier still to speak to those whom you believe will take every word to heart.
But the Lord calls us to speak to Jerusalem. That is speak to those who are close by.
Speak to that neighbor and that arrogant man. The one whom you see day in and day out.
Oh, he is hard to speak to.
Speak to that wayward son. The one who ignores you and thinks he does no wrong.
Speak to that woman. The one who continues to refrain from following wisdom and prefers to abstain from knowledge.
Speak to that close relative who has not shown any interest in the God you serve.
Speak to that co worker or that person who seems to feel they are exempt of judgment.
Yes, to the one who behaves as mule. Yes, that stubborn one, who appears to deserve punishment rather than mercy.
Speak. Talk to them who sleep and slumber too long and have lost their ability to reason.
Speak to them of the truth.
Tell them of the error of their ways.
Warn them of the day of reckoning.
Tell them of their impending calamity.
Speak to them of the consequences of enjoying sin for a season.
Tell them of the result they will incur should they not turn to the Lord in humility.
Times is short. It cannot be that you would rather be politically correct with them and be at odds with the will of God.
Speak to them of th Virgin birth, Speak of the Babe in the Manger, The Light of the World. Speak of the Man, the Miracle worker, The Teacher and that very one… Tell them of the one who died on The Cross. Tell them, he died to pay the debt for their sin. Yes, tell them the whole story. Tell them how He Rose from the Dead. Tell them of how He sits at the righthand of God the father interceding for them.
For God so loved the world…. Tell them of Jesus Christ, The Saviour of the world.
Love your neighbor as thyself says God’s word. Esteem your brother higher than yourself.
Care for the one who is an outcast.
Care for the hungry, the naked and the barren. Show mercy to the widow and the orphan.
The stranger needs mercy as well.
But remeber those that are your kindred.
Those who share your land.
Remember the Lord will not hold lightly. the sin of those who have not shown love. Those who do not forgive will not be forgiven.
Love one another…
Isn’t this how the world will know that we are his disciples?
Give plenty, without holding back. For in your kindness you will reap the very joy of God.
Though you sow in tears, the Lord will be your reward.
Shine child, shine. Let your life be a beacon of hope for the wayward soul.
Shine son, shine…
Let not the lamp of your life go out…
Lest you fail the purpose for your existence.
You who were once born again….
You whom the Lord has shown mercy to…
Be not now a light that is flickering out.
Ignite the flame again.
Find and seek out The Lord’s presence. Seek him first and foremost in your life.
Love those whom God has allowed you to be surrounded by.
Waste no more time.
