Our Times, Our Tears…
Our Hope our Cheer…

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 10-14, 17, 20, 22
We have argued,
We have worried.
We have taken and have given.
We have exercised our ability to give our opinions. We have laboured and stressed over every matter. Ultimately, what will be, will be.
The Lord knows every outcome. He allows the wheat and the tears to grow together. He is not surprised by the newness of a day. He is not bewildered by the hollowness of some speech. He is not taken by the gravity of a moment.
He is the Author of our story. He allows us to be placed in the hot furnace of life that he may purify our hearts. He allows the pain to come to test our position of faith.
He tries the hearts.
No, He has not forgotten of what we are made of. He knows we are dust at best.
But within each life is found, His very breath.
Within each person is found His image.
He, like a wine press, allows us to be pressured in order that the essence of who we are in Christ may be seen.
He causes us to be thrown in the lions den, to cause us to see Him, close the mouth of every lion. The Lord desires us to go in to the battle in order that we may experience his power to give us His victory.
It is only when we stop looking for reasons and stop trying to handle life alone, that we See His Mercy.
For in our weakness His strength is made perfect. In our distress, we find not any hope in any earthly help. It is then we are brought to the place where we Look to the Hills from where our Help comes from.
It is in the midst of famine that we recognize that He alone is the bread of Life.
It is in our deepest sorrow that we cry out. He then, comes to our rescue as the Protagonist in His own story.
We have looked at life al wrong.
Our egocentricity has caused us to think for a moment, that some how we are the center of the universe. We are only part of His creation.
Yet, He has placed within us the Treasure of Heaven. He has been careful to put us in the fire, as the Potter prepares the clay pot to withstand the pressures that will come.
So theLord has caused us to suffer in this life that we may come to the fullness of the knowledge of His great Love for all Humanity.
Yes, we are part of His design. Yet He has made us His elect. He has chosen to commune with us. He has made us cor His glory. He has pressed the olive until the precious oil is released.
Lord, in your design you have given us the ability to come to you in the depth of our sorrows. You have given us audience and you are attentive to the cries of your people.
You have made us the children of Adoption. You chose to call us your own.
Through the precious Blood of your Son Jesus, you have made a way for us. You have been careful not to destroy the works of your hands.
You know how to make us see your mercy and become acquainted with your love.
Today, my heart does magnify the Lord. For you have been my fortress and my shield in the days of trouble. You have held my tears in your bottle. You have not forgotten my petitions and my supplications.
You are able to turn my weeping in to dancing. You are able to mold and shape my heart in a way so that I am able to withstand the losses and find comfort in your presence.
You desirous to come before you in or brokenness that you may mend our hearts.
You, are like the father who sees the baby’s first steps and does not intervene. You wait to see that in every unsteady step there is the striving to succeed. In every difficult moment there is an opportunity for us to grow and learn new ways in which to trust you. You have already equipped us for victory.
By your stripes we are healed.
You have already prepared us for the day of sorrow, for blessed are those that mourn for they will be comforted.
You have predetermined the day of our entrace and the day of our exit.
You have not been taken a back by our failures , nor were you surprised when we had triumphs.
You give us the oil of gladness. You sustain us in our weakness. You uphold us in your love and mercy. We are your possession.
Christ is our elder brother and we are covered under the covering of the cross. The tomb is Empty. Our Victory is Secure.
Resurrection in Christ is first, for those who have gone before us. And we who are alive and remain fixed on the Author and Finisher of the faith, we too will be lifted up and rejoice in Him.
So, for this time, we cry, but soon, we will be rejoicing.
For now we mourn, knowing joy will come in the morning.
The Son of Righteousness is our Rock and our Salvation. He is the strength of our lives. We need not be afraid.
Lord, manifest your glory in us. Make your name known as we speak and tell others of your wonderous love.
The day, the dawn…
The morning gone…
The day is spent.
The night has come.
The purpose of life complete…
We’ll stand before your throne.
The Love of God will keep us on this side of eternity. Ten it will lead us beyond the grave.
The Lord has saved.
We look forward for that Day.
For now, we know He is in control.
