Fear Chains Us To Instability
We Can Be Free

Series Day 2

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8 KJV

Ever been in doubt and uncertain about the future, about circumstances that may be presently happening? We have all been there. Yet there is a paralyzing fear. One that halts all growth and human evolving. It keeps us from being who we were meant to be.

Fear strips away our ability to reason. It confuses our responses. It disables the most powerful individual and reduces them to being trapped within.

When one does not have faith, one goes through the emotional rollercoaster of life without a harness. It seems as if nothing will ever become stable.

Fear causes us to become irrational and unable to think clearly it causes us to feel marginalized and isolated. Like being put in a box and locked in. It makes a person believe they have no hope. This type of fear causes anxiety about the future.
It brings about fear of things that may have not even happened. It keeps the person enclosed in their past. In doing so, it does not allow a person to pursue new adventures, new dreams or goals.

The enemy of humanity wants to keep us blinded by our fears. We all have fears from time to time. Perhaps we have been abused. Perhaps we have seen a crime and witnessing it has caused deep trauma. Rape, Child Abuse, an Abusive relationship, A Loss of a Parent or Caregiver….
All these can cause a person to feel hindered and weak. The human mind however has the capacity to suppress and to refuse negative thoughts when it replaces those thoughts with the Will to Thrive.

The problem is, that the desire to thrive alone, does not change our internal condition. The will to move on can help us for a while but in crisis, many have found that the memories flood back in and the fear increases.
The thoughts of fear may come in the midst of the night and disturb one’s sleep. It can bring about a lack of appetite. This can cause deficits in the nutritional intake and can further damage the ability to think clearly.
A nutritional deficit can cause problems in the Digestion, in the Circulatory system. It can cause High Blood Pressure. It can bring about fatigue and weakness, mental instability and a myriad of other issues that can perpetuate illness.

In some people this fear may cause food cravings that are unhealthy. To satiate their hunger they may turn to over indulging on high
carbohydrate foods. These then act as a temporary fix and which perpetuates the spiralling down in to depression.
Lowering physical responses and hormonal balances can bring awful consequences.

It is not God’s intention for us to live under bondage. Trauma can cause us to remain trappped in the past unable to move forward.
We must reach out of ourselves and upwards. We must cry out to the God who understands our deepest sorrows and shortcomings. We must look to the one who formed us in the womb. He knows what makes us tick. He is able to comprehend what we cannot even say with our words.

His love is able to heal the deepest hurts. He is able to understand the longings of our soul. The desire to belong, to be protected, to feel safe he sees in us. He sees the issues that plague our minds, our worries, our insecurities.
He sees what we cannot let go of. That hurt that was commited against us. The one we keep holding on to and think it gives us the right to hurt forever. We may hold anger because, in our perception, our parents failed us. They were unable to be who we needed them to be. This fear can debilitate and cause loneliness. It can harm relationships and future opportunities to connect with people.
Yet God, in his mercy desires for us to ‘Let Go of Fear.’

We are to Let Go of the pain that we so grasp on to. The Lord would want for you and me to be delivered from the prison of emotional pain. Jesus came to celebrate your mind and mine. He came to enable us to become thinkers, dreamers, goal setters and people of purpose.
He does not want for us to live caged in despair.

The Cross of Jesus is the One thing that We cannot do for oursleves. We cannot die and rise again to pay the price for the sin we have all fallen victims to.
When mankind fell, we inherited fear, loss, shame, lacks, anger, weakness, confusion, crisis.

When Jesus died and Rose again, His Death and Resurrection gives us Freedom, Life, Hope, Forgiveness, Healing, Clarity, Purpose and Peace in the midst of the Crisis we may Be going through.

The Bible tells us, that, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18

1 John 1:9 tells us, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

But what if those who have been the perpetrators? What of those who now have remorse and shame and feel the weight of their wrong doings? They also live in constant fear for crimes they commited on others. The heaviness of their sin weighs on their minds. Some are also tormented by thoughts of what they have done against others.

There is hope for them also, in Christ.
I f they are genuinely sorry for their sin and confess their sin to God, forgiveness is for them too.

God’s desire is to change us in to the likeness of his Son Jesus. He wants to forgive our past. He wants to give us that new life. Regardless of the sins commited. Yes, He gives equal opportunity God. Regardless of your sin or the color of your skin, His love is for all us.

God’s Word tells us, “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace….” 1 Corinthians 14:33

The Bible tells us that when we have the Lord we have peace. We experience freedom.
See here, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2 Corinthians 3:17

How can I be in freedom when I, am a prisoner of my past. How can I move forward, when I am chained to the thoughts that paralyze me.

The Bible says that when we come to Christ we are made new creatures in Christ. It says that we are Born Again.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Bible says that in Him we are restored, made new, given a new life and purpose to live life to the fullest.

The Paralysis Frar Brings is not something that we need in our lives. Jesus can heal our wounds. He can bring clarity to our lives and shed light in to the deepest hurts so we can leave them at his feet.

He is our burden bearer. His desire is to left off of us that cloud of Fear and Give us a sound mind.

In therapy I have at times offered techniques for breathing and exercises to combat anxiety. However, the most powerful antidote to fear is to have faith in the God who created us.
The best medicine is to Let God bring us Peace of mind.

To breathe in His Presence and Exhale Fear is the Best Therapy. To Focus on His Mercy and His Goodness and Let Go of a Hurting Memory.
To allow the Spirit of God To Bring Discernment and remind us that We Have Security in Christ. We have Stability in Christ. We have Hope in Christ. We have Forgiveness in Christ. We have Peace in Him for He is the Prince of Peace.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Ephesians 2:14 KJV

Everything that once separated us from God is what Jesus came to remove. We now have Access to Healing.

We can call out to God and he will heal our hearts and mind. We can say, like Jeremiah said,

“Heal me, O Lord , and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.” Jeremiah 17:14

His Peace Casts out our deepest Fears.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

Meditating on His word is one sure way of pushing away the fear and gaining strength and courage to move forward in life.
Leaving the Past in the Past and Moving into What He has prepared for us.

He will help a person thrive and heal, have peace and be a blessing to others.

Be Gone Paralyzing Fear.
Our God is Near.

We Can Be Sucure and Stable as We Allow God to Build Us Up in Faith.

We can walk in the Stability Christ gives us by His Holy Spirit which leads us and guides us in truth.

The voices in our heads cannot drown out the Word of God. They cannot cause Fear to Temain when we have asked the Lord to make us whole.

Christ Jesus is the Antidote the The Poison of Fear.
