It’s Not So Complicated,
Let’s Teach Them About God
Published by Deborah Negron M.A.
So when is that teaching moment?
When is it that I should tell my children of the things of God?
Well, let me see, there are always opportunities to tell them of the goodness of God. Whether while walking on the beach and seeing God’s creation, the sand, the water, the sky….
Or whether you are discussing an issue, such as an event coming up or an opportunity, or perhaps a mistake or a poor choice made. There are countless moments where we can tell our children of how they ought to b3have, how they ought to think and what the Lord expects of those who know him.
Proverbs 22:6 tells us to train up a child in the way he should go and even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Our children need constant reminders of God’s love, his grace and his mercy. They need us to let them know that God’s love and forgiveness is necessary because we all fail. They need to know that every decision they make in life should be discussed in prayer with the Lord. They should know that the steps of the righteous are ordered of the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11 says that the Lord has plans for our lives… plans for good and not for evil, these Plans that give us a hope and a future.
Oh tell them of how much He loves them. How he is the friend that sticks closer than a sibling. There are moments throughout each day to share Jesus with our kids.
