Who is Jesus?
Our Creator and Our Redeemer- The Alpha and Omega
Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Colossians 1
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Since the very start Jesus has been involved. He was not as some have claimed, introduced merely in the New Testament. Jesus is part of the Godhead, the Trinity. He is and has been God the Son.
He has been and is, the very word of that same Trinity. He is the Verb, the Word in its active form. Creative, powerful, productive and expressive.
He is not merely some name, some prophet or some teacher. Jesus is the one who in God’s (The Trinity) eternal plan, was designated to redeem mankind from their eventual fall.
Though God created man and woman in perfection, In his perfect knowledge, in his omniscience, He knew man would fail. Yet Christ Jesus, was already prepared, destined, predetermined and decided to come and be the very One who would restore humanity to its Creator.
Christ Jesus, the Messiah had been prophesied of by the men of old. His coming foretold and today we are on the other side of His-story.
When I look at The Great Story Book, I see, a story of Great love. That God knowing full well mankind would be frail and weak and prone to fail…
And yet He, Them, The Trinity, would still create and follow through with the plan of creation – this is a story of great passion, unfailing love and a testment of God’s grace, mercy and sovereignty.
It is a story of how the strong has come to save the weak. How the powerful made himself small, frail and vulnerable in order to take our place. Jesus gave himself an offering and a sacrifice for us. In this way he redeems us to our our original desired state, sinless…
Cleansed and purged from our sin. We are restored to the Father through Jesus the Son.
Oh that all would see God’s love, in His precious holy Word. This year Lord, let us walk through the pages of history, His Story and see Jesus for who He truly is. Let us come to a newfound faith that does not come out of focus with traditions and ritualistic expressions of faith.
Let us rather walk, with a clear understanding of how much you love us,
How precious your Word is, and How to we ought to deliver ths truth to all people.
In the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit
We pray, Amen.
