Then, the Priests were given a word to bless the people. The Priestly Blessing – Birkat Kohanim.
They were not to touch but rather make a signal with their hands that would form the letters in Hebrew that were the name El Shaddai. The hands were placed in a position pointing upwards and the palms down. This would cause the light to pass through as a symbolic act that would be done. As the light passed through the hands God was said to be imparting Jis blessing to the people.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them, The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”
Numbers 6:22-27

The hands of Jesus made the final sign. His arms outstretched upon the cross of Calvary made it possible for their to be a connection. A touch from the divine to the earthly. From heaven to earth Jesus is that Mediator between God and men.
We read that the veil in the temple that separated the Holy of holies from the sanctuary was ripped from top to bottom.
The dividing wall was made null and void.
Today we have unmerited favor. We have been given access to the throne of God. We have been given and audience to the Mercy Seat of God.
Jesus, Yeshua, the coming Messiah has come. Emmanuel has come. The long awaited Saviour has come. He has given himself as the Ultimate Sacrifice and the Bridge that connects us.

Paul writes to the church in Thesolonaica
1 Thesalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
In James 5:13-16 scripture tells us,
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
Today, we pray one for another. Today, we have a community of faith that we can physically touch. We can connect directly with the Lord and pray one for another.
Today, we call for the elders of the church to come and place physical hands on those they are praying for and pray directly to God.
This is different from the past. Because the New Covenant is far better than the old.
Jesus was perfect and He imparts the the believer access, communion, fellowship, a direct line of communication with the Father.
The Holy Spirit of God does not need to manifest in an impersonal way.
Now, through Jesus Christ, we have all the bars of communications open.
It’s like a direct line. The difference is that we are not calling on one who is far away. Jesus, i
Emmanuel, is God with us.
When Jesus ascended to the Father after Risong from the grave He said, He was Leaving with us the Holy Spirit. That wonderful presence of God that is ever present, ever here with us.
In John 14:15-18 Scripture states,
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
On the day of Pentecost, as the 120 waited for the promise of the Holy Spirit to come, He came. Acts 2.
We have that same Holy Spirit today. The hands outstretched on the Cross gave us permanent access to God’s Account system.
We have access to His account of Mercy.
We have access to His account of Grace. We have access to His account of Provision, Forgiveness and Daily access through prayer.
Oh we have been given a better account.
The old one was filled with lacks and shortcomings. We were full of overdrafts and bounced checks. We could not meet the demands.
Christ Jesus had the right Combination –
Virgin Birth + Death on the Cross + Resurrection = Permanent Access.
There is however a combination we need to have before attaining this access to God’s Redemption Account.
Here it is,
Confess your Sins + Repent and Turn Away from Sin + Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ = Salvation
Access Allowed.
His hands bring life and show us the way to heaven. His love far outward all the things we can conjure up to try to be made right.
We can be those who have Access. We can Pray and Recieve Him Today.
Come, He will literally change your life.
Let Me Pray With You.
