To Stand Is To Kill the Flesh Daily/ Deny The Flesh

I Decide, I Choose, I contend, I Must Kill The Flesh Daily

Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Before coming to Christ, we are Reactive,
Compulsive, fixed and in error.
Stubborn and destined to failure. We are all those who often learn by having to face a situation. We are those that are often unprepared for the battle or the circumstance when it arises. As those who have no true hope we wander in exisitence.
Yes we plan. But our vision is skewed by our temporal mindset.

But when we come to grips with the reality that we were created by a loving God, a merciful Savior and a God who affords us grace, our vision changes.
We who were reactive, now are to put on the Armour of God (Ephesians 6).

We who were Compulsive in seeking what was gratifying to the flesh, now Refrain from seeking temporal desires and long for the Eternal rewards.

Our Vision that was once skewed and limited now can come into the place of true hope in the fact that the Redeption, Forgiveness, Restoration and Daily Mercy is precious and worth laying aside all other human ambitions.

We come to recognize our great need of Salvation and we then become Constant in seeking the will of God. We fall in love with His Favor and Desire His Presence.

But rest assured, the enemies of this humanity are ready to press in and apply pressure.
The enemy we call Satan does everything to cause us to trip up and fail.
The enemy we call the flesh, or our humanity assails us with thoughts that often bring us back to an original state in the way we think. And the World, this enemy wants us to go with the status quo, to go with the flow, to stop ruffling feathers ans just become tolerant and ineffective witnesses.

But this Word reminds us of the authority we have been given in Christ jesus.
We are to become Aware, Vigilant, Proactive and Purposeful in our walk. We have been afforded a new nature. Our sin nature now has competition. We have been given the tools to fight a spiritual warfare against the works of Satan. We have been given the tools to cause the Flesh to submit and be inoperative. We have been given the artillery to be able to combat the Attacks of the World and to stand firm for what is Truth and Righteousness.

We can do all things through Christ who gives us daily the wherewithal to stand.

Let’s not allow the enemy to sway us. Let’s not allow the fears to over take us. Let’s not allow our vision to be clouded by worry and doubt. Let us go to the Word!

In it we find the necessary arms to fight this battle. We find rest and pesce. We find hope and mercy. We find forgiveness for our repentance. We find a new garment for our nakedness. We find sustenance for our soul’s hunger and we find restoration for our lives that we might go out and restore others.

Lord let this Word minister to our hearts that we may live in the victory we already have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
