Letting Go of What Holds Us Back

Is it not ironic that the things, places and people we seem to hold on to are often the ones we need to move away from in order to grow?

When we are children we cling desperately to our parents. We hold on for dear life. We do not as of yet know how to walk. Slot however, we begin to take those baby steps and we find eventually we can stando on our own teo feet.

Life is a series of steps we can take. No, let me correct that. Life is composed of steps we must climb in order to grow and develop.

Without letting go, we may become stagnant and disturb the process. We may even become retarded in the path. We may see ourselves remaining in the same mental state without acquiring new challenges and new accomplishments in life, when we do not move, step out and take chances.

I am one of those people that despises change. I admit it. I do not like to change what I have become accustomed to. More often than not, this tends to be a negative aspect of my mindset. I have had to be pushed hard in life by circumstances in order to make decisions. Slowly, however, and by the patience others have had with me, I have learned that it is better to change what is an inhealthy mindset rather than remain in that stagnant state.

One of the crutches in life can often be complacency. The definition of Complacency is a mindset that the personal accomplishments are good enough. There is no more room for growth. Sounds smug, it may sound arrogant, but in truth, it is a laziness and a poison that can backfire.

Another reason why some dont move forward in life is the fear of past failures. Every single investor faced failures. Take Thomas Edison for instance. He has been dubbed America’s greatest inventor by some. He invented devices that promoted the generation of electricity, mass communication devices and those devices for the recording of sound.

He was one of those people who did not quit. He failed and got up again and again. Through his moving forward, we can enjoy so many th in ngs today. We thrive on his efforts and have had our lives impacted by his drive to move forward even after failure.

What about the Wright Brothers, They were two aviation engineers who have been credited with creating the first flying operational and successful vehicle, the Wright Flyer. Their original design for the wings of aircrafts are still used today.

What about Martin Luther King Jr. It was his determination that changed the way humanity saw people of different colored skin. The did not follow the crowd or remain stagnant in a broken system. He moved forward.

He opened His Mouth Positively to Better the Lives of Those Around Him.

So, here and now. Change for us must be made. For me, it was essential to change direction. My poor life choices had led me to a life that was less than what God had intended for me to live.

Sometimes we place ourselves in the ruts of life. We make poor choices and go down the wrong paths. We are human.

In the midst of life’s struggles there is something we carry within our lungs that enables us to step away from the past and Move Forward.

It is the Gift God Has Goven Every Human Being. It is the Breath of Life.

That God Breathed Air in our Lungs is the very Power of God to make Changes Happen.

The Bible says,

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 ESV

This is the opportunity we all need to take. The step up we have been given. Jesus came that we would have life and have it more abundantly. The enemy wants to keep us from stepping up.

The Bible says by the the Apostle John who wrote what Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
John 10:10‭-‬11 ESV

The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
John 3:16‭-‬17 ESV

Hey, this is the step up we all nee DC’s. The past we cannot change. But the future is in our hands.

We can hold on to the crutches of lack, pain, trauma, suffering, loss and remain unable to move forward. Or we can take action. We can use the Breath in our lungs to Make the Move. Change our Outcomes by Stepping up to Where God wants us to be.

Jesus is the Corner Stone. He is the stone that the builders rejected. He is the one people did not think was going to remain. Yet here we are over 2000 years later speaking of the words he spoke. He was the long awaited Messiah. He is the one we can step up to.

Yes, He is the Rock that is higher than I. I can trust His Trith will stand. His love for you and me is not bas ed d on what we can or cannot do. He just wants us to step away from all the crutches of Life. If we rest on Him. He is able to Carry us. He is able to Help us Stand. He is the Evdrlasting Father. He is the Prince of Peace. He will wipe away our tears. He will give us newness of life. He will restore our hearts.

Let go of the past, the memories that haunt you. Jesus is the Light, in the light all things are seen. In the light all truth is exposed. It’s okay. Admit your failure and move forward.

You Were The Victim

Perhaps you were sinned against. You may be the one who had been harm ed d by someone in your past, God wants to restore your peace of mind. There can be a new horizon. But you must Let it all go and surrender to the one who is The Author of the Book of Life.

He can be the Scribe of your Story. He can Write a Precious New Beginning and an Everalsting Life.

How Do I Let Go of the Crutches?

Surrender your hurts to God. Allow Him to cleanse your heart and mind. The pain and anguish of loss and or trauma, he can cause to be the wound that heals. The scars may remain, but the hurt will not be constant.

Forgiveness is one way we Let go. When we forgive those who have commited wrongs against us, we release oursleves from the prison of despair and the memories that imprison us. We Allow God to fill us with Hope. When we forgive, we too are forgiven.

We can seek the lord. We can cry out to Him. We can ask him to change our minds. We can proactively fill our minds with the words that empower us.

Psalm 91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord , “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalms 91:1‭-‬2 ESV

Psalm 27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1 ESV

Romans 8:1‭, ‬18‭-‬18‭, ‬31‭-‬32‭, ‬35‭-‬39 ESVThere is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalms 23:1 ESV

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord , plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Now you and I can Let Go of Thise Toxic Places, Things and People and Move Forward. Let The Lord Be The Scribe of Your Story.
