“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. “You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me. Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Revelation 7: 15-17
For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple. The one seated on the throne will shelter them: They will no longer hunger; they will no longer thirst; the sun will no longer strike them, nor will any scorching heat.
For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will shepherd them; he will guide them to springs of the waters of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
How often has my focus been off?
How often have I looked with eyes that perceive only the losses, the hardship, the calamity?
How often has my vision been skewed by my short term vision, my short term goals?
The temporal seems to take precedence over the things that are eternal.
Lord examine my heart.
You know My motivations.
Take me to the place where I am able to see that the reason for my unrest is that there is no true satisfaction on earth’s plain.
The only true joy is found in your presence.
The only success is found in seeking your face. The moment of true ecstacy is reached when a life is brought and taught and delivered into salvation.
The greatest journey is the one where one is brought to the place where one fulfills your call.
Oh that souls would know your mercy!
Oh that lives would know your grace.
For me, the hunger is continual, the thirst for your presence unsatiable.
For to live and move and have my being is, to be found in the house of the Lord doing your bidding Lord.
To listen, to speak, to engage others in the truth. To draw them to the place where the Cross and the Empty Tomb are made known to them, this is my heart’s desire.
For to live, is to be in your path. For life is but a moment of turmoil and unrest.
But peace is found even in the midst of life’s storms. This peace transforms mere existence with the objective for living.
To bring truth and the light of Jesus is my greatest joy. To sing of His goodness is my sheer pleasure.
Others may aspire wealth, fame and fortune. Still others, may desire knowledge and recognition.
But for me, to have others hear of the mercy and the grace and the love and the forgiveness of Christ is my soul desire.
So, my high hopes, may differ from the some.
I thrive in seeking your will.
My only success is to be noted by you, Lord.
I want to be known as one who thirsted after righteousness.
I want to be known of you, as one, who did not give in, to the desires of the flesh. But rather surrendered to you wholly.
For I have found that the seeking of the worldly riches is tiresome. The search for man’s knowledge overwhelms. The much toil in the mundane exhausts a man.
But to be found in your presence delights the soul. To be found sharing of your love, is empowering. To be telling of the measure of your unending love is fulfilling.
Oh Lord, let me please you.
Let me be found in you.
Let me be your hands and feet…
To go where your will would want me to.
To stand as a beacon of hope for the lost.
To point them to you.
To be a facilitator in their search for wholeness. To be a conduit of grace.
I hunger for your truth and to deliver the same to the needy.
The losses, the struggles, the pain and the hard times are worth it all if I am found in you.
The plan, the purpose and outcomes are yours. I am yours.
And what is my ultimate reward?
Where is the show for my success?
You are my reward. You are my triumph. You are the Lifter off my head. You are the one who enables me to see beyond the here and now and focus on the eternal. Your joy, your peace and your forgiveness is plenty. Your presence to guide and comfort, sustain and enable me to persevere iansss more than enough. Yet you promise me an eternity in your heavenly home.
You are my joy and my crown. You are my strength and the place where my life iansss found.
So let me live this life as an open letter, a poster board… let me bring your truth and your life giving hope. Let the poster read, To the one who is able to wipe every tear…
Come meet the one who can make you free. Come find mercy and love divine.
Let this be easily read in me…
Let me be an open book where some can find your truth.
You are the one who can satisfy the soul. Only you can make us whole.
Lord You Are Our Greatest Reward.
