GIVE US FAITH LIKE A CHILD’S

Psalm 57:1-3,7.
Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy! I look to you for protection. I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by. I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me. He will send help from heaven to rescue me, disgracing those who hound me. Interlude My God will send forth his unfailing love and faithfulness. My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!

You cannot have a conversation without being totally surprised and in awe of my grandson. He is almost 5. He reasons so clearly.

Jesus said that our faith must be like that of a child’s faith. Jordan reminded me of this today. It was time to pick up my preteen from rehearsal. I told him we had to go get her.
His shoes were off and his coat hung on the doorknob, he could reach it easily. He had put it there. I told him come on get your coat and shoes. He says, Nani but I’m comfy now. You go get her.

I told him we cannot leave children alone. That he had to go with me. He insisted how he had Jesus in his heart. He assured me of how Jesus was God and how he would protect and keep him safe. He insisted I leave him and go without him.

Of course we had a chet to about how God protects children by giving them parents and Grandparents and grown ups that take care of them, but…
This boy is too much.

This made me consider, how is my faith? How much do I trust the God I claim to serve?
Am I confident of how the Lord is truly my ship and my fortress?
Do I give it lip service but when the days of trouble come, am I doubtful?

Lord, let us be like this little child. His words will forever be etched in my mind.

I don’t have to worry, “Jesus is in my heart. He will protect me. Jesus is God!

Yes the one who made the heavens and the earth is on my side. The Alpha and Omega is my God. The Redeemer of all mankind is my Lord and Saviour. The one y which all things were created. The one who Rose on the Thrird Day. The one who left death and the the Empty Tomb is my Keeper and my Deliverer.

Lord give us this Child like faith.
