The Watchmen – Are You Still Searching For Another?

The Watchman – Are You Still Searching For Another?

Oh Bride why have you gone looking in the bed of pleasures of another?

Why have you sought a word pleasing to your ears and not from God’s own mouth?
Why do you seek words of prosperity and a future the Lord has not designed for you.
You look in broken cisterns…
You seek fresh water in dry wells.

Oh church, why have you forsaken the preaching for comforting words.
Why have you taken the time meant for coming in reverence and humility and

worship for self seeking endeavors.

Christ is the answer to societal lacks.
He is the answer for the broken hearted. The wealth of this world is not to be compared with the eternal riches found in seeking the Lord.

Mathew 6:33 states, Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all things shall be added un to you.

But we the church are now seeking self gratification…self worth… self preservation. We have taken hold of a humanistic plan and have forsaken the truth. We seek for earthly gains and have forfeited the treasure given to us in earthen vessels

The watchmen, where are they?
Sound the alarm!
Awaken the people.

Ezekiel 33
2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: 3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; 4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. 5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. 6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. 8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

We the church are too entertained with becoming comfortable in this earthly plain. We have sought to gain possessions of the temporal things and have given more weight to the things that fade away.

Mathew 6
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Where is the heartbeat of the church in America?
Where is the pulse?
It is found in things that entertain us.
Let’s move toward higher incomes, higher levels of entertainement. Let’s be occupied giving our children a future in this life.

It sounds all well and good. But the major part of the Christian community does not know scripture. We have become illiterate when it comes to God’s word.
We have given our kids every possible entertaining event. We have equipped them to want more and seek more of earthly riches. But they lack knowledge of the Word of life.

Sunday schools are not places of learning bible stories and how the old and new testaments connect. They do not teach our kids to see Jesus in Genesis.

Scripture tells us in John 1:3 that, All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Speaking here of Jesus Christ. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Yet our kids do not know this.
The Psalm 23
Describing Jesus in the old testament, says, The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Declaring that we are complete in Christ Jesus. He meets every human need.

Yet our churches are too busy telling stories and not connecting the truths.

Church! Church of Jesus Christ! Where have we strayed. Where have our attentions gone.

The commission of the church … The body of Christ is clearly found in

Mathew 28
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

We are to preach the gospel of Jesus to all nations. We are to impart the truth of God’s word to the lost and suffering world.

On a Mission trip some years ago I spoke to a church and stated these words,

“In Christ we find our only hope.
In him, not in government, not in religion, not in education and not in humanitarian efforts. Jesus is the Rewarder of those that diligently seek him.”

Church, are we seeking a status quo?
Are we preaching a different gospel?
Have we strayed from the truth?

For one day, we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
We will have to give an account of what we did.

Oh Bride, have you gone astray?
Have his affections not been enough to keep you faithful?
