What am I Building With?
What materials am I using to build with?
Will they stand or will they be burned as waste?

2 Corinthians 3
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
I was concerned with the presentation…
I used color and paint.
I was concerned with the appearance
and what would others say?
I was seeking to make my work tactful
And make it appear fine.
Yet the work was made with cardboard
And my greatest tool was a brush.
I covered all the imperfections thinking…
This will be okay.
The day of reckoning came.
Although my work seemed flawless
to the natural eye.
The Master came and noticed
That what I had created was an illusion, it was a lie.
He looked beyond my painting,
He looked beyond my design
and noticed it was made of mine own pride…
He took it down and I thought
He would simply cast me off.
Then He said, Oh child I am your base. In me your foundation is secu
I stand to solidify your work. Use my gifts and utilize my wisdom.
Ask me for the choicest stones and for the best of materials.
I am the one who will assist you and cause your work to stand.
If you seek me you will find me.
If you knock I will be here.
If you ask of me you shall receive, of this you can be clear.
Don’t go looking for appearances, don’t go seeking to please men. Look to me and I will see the work within.
I will build of you a building, that will stand the test of time.
The storms of life will come and the heavy winds will blow.
The trying of your heart will be my doing.
Yet if you use me as your refuge I assure you you will stand.
There’s no wind strong enough to break you, nor a storm that can destroy. What is built in you is eternal and I know it will endure.
Come become my colaborer, do not do it by yourself.
I am your chief cornerstone. Trust me and be strong.
Then one day you will look back and see
That together we have built my steadfast, prevailing church
Just as it should be.
You are my building my child. You are my Temple you see.
I am creating something wonderful for all eternity.
