Changing Our Perspective

CHANGING OUR PERSPECTIVE

Vision skewed,

Perspective needs

to change.

Focus off,

Need to read… to re align.

The troubles of this life can obscure our ability to look at life through the spectacles of faith.

Our circumstances can shake us and cause us to lose heart mementarily. Yet, there lies the key… Only for a moment.

When we are accustomed to seeking God’s purpose and his plan for our lives, we can easily be brought back to the right track.

When we consider how his love has brought us out of the destined punishment and in to the eternal hope, we refocus.

When we consider his faithfulness and ability to see us through in the midst of life’s most difficult of times, we become empowered to flex the muscles of faith, as it were. We begin to exercise the faith that he has given to everyperson. And just like a muscle that grows as it is exercised, donor faith increases.

When we read his word in Jeremiah 29:11-13

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord . “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”

It begins to cause our vision to clear. You see Israel had been in captivity for seventy years. Talk about feeling depressed and anxious and hopeless. They were to be captive and this can be something that causes anyone to despair. But how precious bis God’s word. It gives us hope. You see, for even when we feel disheartened, when the diagnosis is not facourable, when the news is of calamity….

When we don’t appear to see a happy ending anywhere in sight, God’s word fills our hearts and minds with hope.

When I read, 2 Corinthians 2:9 where it states,

“That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

I am infused with faith. I begin to dream, to hope and to project for the future. I begin to desire to live my life to the fullest in his plan for me. Many times we are slapped with some reality that causes us to be disheveled. But our determination must be to look upwards not inwards.

At times I have encountered this philosophy that tells folks to look inwards. Well, if I look inwards in will find the flaws, the insecurities and the fears and the past that may be daunting. But when I look upwards to the heavens, when I look to the hills from where my salvation comes from, I am given new strength.

The Bible says, in Jeremiah 17:9,

““The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?

Left to our own devices, the most positive person eventually comes to a place of despair given the level of stress and pressures of life.

So then, what is the answer to our despair, our anguish and our anxiety? It is as simple as it can be. It is to place our hope and our fears and our disatisfaction in the hands of our burden bearer.

Mathews 11:28-30 says, “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

You see, it’s not that we won’t face the issues of life at all. It is that we won’t walk the road alone. We have a friend that sticks closet than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). It’s that Jesus promised to send us a Comforter (John14:16).

It is that we are promised the peace of God that surpasses our understanding even in the midst of the trials of life. (Philippians 4:7).

We are encouraged and built up, taught and instruxted, corrected and placed on the right path, when we consider the word of God. We are repositioned and then we having the mind of Christ, are then prepared to confront the battles we face in this earthly plain. We renew our minds and don’t conform to the norm ‘s of this world (Romans 12:2).

When we press in the Lord strengthens our faith, builds our strength, causes us to have hope and the Holy Spirit of God enables us to walk by faith and not by sight. He is that Comforter Jesus had promised us. He enables the believer to walk through this life having the wherewithal to stand. Ephesians 6 tells us that we are to put on the whole armour of God. This is how we do this. Be reading God’s word, by trusting that we can have confidence in He, who began a good work in us, will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6).

As we trust and walk in this journey of faith in Christ Jesus we begin to have the right perspectives. We see things more clearly. There is lucidity and understanding, wisdom and hope to persevere and not give up.

Then we, yes, you and I can face the giants of this life. We can stand when others falter. We can research align our thoughts and manifest the faith that moves the mountains in our lives.

We can make it and live victoriously as we are made to see the riches of God’s blessings. He gives us beauty for ashes, hope for despair, peace for chaos, strength for our weaknesses, forgiveness for our sins. He justifies us, sanctified us and empowers us to live a faith walk that is not based on circumstances but on the assurance that He is able to carry us in this life and sustain us until we enter our eternity with him.

Have hope, you too can have the right view. Your perspective can change from one of negativity to a genuine hope and positive outcomes of faith.

May you be blessed.
