Genisis 3:15
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
He knew Man would fail and so… He, God had this all figured out. Since Beginning God had a plan to Redeem us.
Acts 2:23. Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Mathew 2:1-2,4–11. Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judæa in the days of Herod the king, behold, Wise-men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him. And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judæa: for thus it is written through the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah, Art in no wise least among the princes of Judah: For out of thee shall come forth a governor, Who shall be shepherd of my people Israel. Then Herod privily called the Wise-men, and learned of them exactly what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search out exactly concerning the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word, that I also may come and worship him. And they, having heard the king, went their way; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary his mother; and they fell down and worshipped him; and opening their treasures they offered unto him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
Ezekiel 37:24, 26-28. And my servant David shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in mine ordinances, and observe my statutes, and do them. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah that sanctifieth Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
Isaiah 9:2-7
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Thou hast multiplied the nation, thou hast increased their joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, thou hast broken as in the day of Midian. For all the armor of the armed man in the tumult, and the garments rolled in blood, shall be for burning, for fuel of fire. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.
The yoke was heavy upon them… They were subdued and overtaken. The weight of their sin and rebellion was overwhelming. They had chosen a path of tradition, Of men’s hierarchyAnd had forgotten the purpose of their election.
Israel had become tainted by the gravity of their idolatry. The priests had forgotten to look to the heavens for the answer to their calamity.
So they were in subjection to Rome. They had to be as slaves and those under another’s authority.
Herod ruled over them. His heart not a heart of compassion, but rather of greed and fear of another taking his throne. The maladjustment of this people was grave. They had become polarized and practiced all the things their surrounding countries practiced. Some how they had taken a bit of this and a smidgen of that and created a religion and an organized deviation from God’s original design.
But this was no surprise to Our Maker. He knew this would occur. Mankind had already been poisoned by the sin of Adam and Eve.
What now! What now Oh God of heaven. They could not fre themselves. They lived under bondage and toyed with the world. Yet, this too was part of the unfolding of The Eternal Plan of Redemption. God was not bewildered by their foolish rejection. He was not moved to destroy them and forget his Salvation.
Preordained, planned and Premeditated was his love for all mankind. A divine appointment had already been assigned.
Oh, glory to God in the Highest. The sky could not hold back. The heavens birthed a new ball of fire, a new heavenly sphere was shown. Yes, the star of Bethlehem did shine announcing He had been born.
The one the prophets spoke of…
That long awaited king. In the of Judah in the city of Bethelehem came this new king. But not as they expected. Not in royal garb. He was instead laid in a manger and placed in the care of a simple virgin and her spouse.
These two were given the care of this child. To raise him in the way of the Lord their Father and to bring this light abroad. Oh God how unlikely, how utterly strange that the King of all creation would be in swaddling clothes lain. What amazing mercy, what amazing love that the promise came for the people and for those who were poor .
Poor in spirit, poor in strength, poor in ability to find relief. Poor in wisdom, lacking understanding. Having do much yet missing the ending.
Such a people were the chosen. Those to whom the Saviour came. Come to rewrite their stories and make them His again. They had squandered their election. They had lost their place. He came to reposition them in the origin of why their were made.
Humanity came to see this as time went on you see. But the star and the Angel’s knew it. The heavens declared his powe rd and the song of glories was sung.
Glory to God in the Highset the Savior has been born. He will grow and die and redeem mankind and then rise again in victory.
Such a story of God’s mercy, of his never ending love. For Jesus came to set the captive free and to give to us his joy. Reconciliation, restoration and this too, that we’d live in freedom telling all of how this love is for me and you.
Oh, a child has been born to save us. Oh the Redeemer of the soul. He has come to liberate us. He has come to make us whole. No more sin that would entangle… No more shame to hold us back… No more sorrow to entrap us… Jesus came that we might live. The oppressor has no power over those that come to Him, for those that come to Jesus He has delivered from their sin. There will be no more accusations. We have been washed in the Saviour flow. Yes the Blood of Clavary has cleansed us and now we live to tell the world.
Glory, glory in the highest… peace and good will to men. For the Star did Shine in Bethlehem and Delivered us from sin. We have been clothed in righteousness and set free from all our shame. We have been made sons and daughters, we are Children of This King.
