Hosea 14
2 Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. 3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy. 4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
Mathew 22
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. 10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
I have offered the invitation
I have called you
You did come in.
You came, as it were and sat among the guests. They, however took on the apparel fit for a wedding. They put on the clothes. That were furnished for celebration.
I, even I have offered myself as your covering. I have placed the robes of righteousness that would allow you to to enter in.
I am, he whom the prophets spoke of…
I am the one who was broken, and poured out on the tree for you and for all.
Yet, the garment to wear to the wedding is ready. The invitation has arrived.
Why have you chosen to ignore it? Why have you despised me? Did I not come and give my all for you? Why hesitate in your decision?
The time is short. The called are many. Many who have heard the cry to come in repentance.
Many have heard my voice. Some think it is a fable. Others believe they have found another way.
I alone, am sent of my Father. I alone came and gave my life for you. Yet, you believe because of status, or position, wealth or power, you will be received? There is a title you still hold.
It is a label none can remove from you.
The label of sinner. The case of the matter is that you are undone. Dead in your trespasses.
I, however, am the Life Giver. I am the one who restores the soul.
You, you think because you have done great works of charity…
You have given to the poor, been kind to the stranger and placed ashes on your head…
You believe that your many works will save you.
If you have done any good deed it has been because I gave you eyes to see the needs. I gave you a heart to feel. I placed in you the will to do kindness. Yet this alone cannot save you. You cannot be clothes for the wedding with works.
How then? Simple. Confess you sin, surrender your life and accept my cleansing and forgiveness. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, scripture clearly states, and you shall be saved.
Then the transformation happens.
The filthy clothes stained by sin are cast off.
And as becoming royalty, be dressed in the garments of the redeemed. The robe of righteousness.
Then clothed in this manner you will become the Bride of Christ. The Beloved, will be given entrance and will remain in communion and fellowship and will be seated in heavenly places.
Oh come Emmanuel. Come into my heart Lord Jesus. Come in today. Clothe me in the robes of white. Dress me in your love. Cover my wrong doing and restore me to our Father.
Come Emmanuel. Have me be birthed a new. Allow me to become a child, a servant, a co laborer with you. Let me share this love with others too. That many will come and sit at your feet and drink of your fountain that shall never run dry.
Dress me in you. Clothe me in righteousness. Without you I can do nothing. Help me I pray. Amen.
