2 Corinthians 2:9-10
For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things. To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
Hebrews 10:35-39.
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
So, there aren’t too many gifts under the tree. That thing you expected fell through. The Bills piling up and the concerns are plenty. The commercialism of this holiday season makes some feel overwhelmed and burdened by the hype.
Yet in the midst of the hustle and bustle, a true revelation comes. It’s not about the presents. It’s not about the many things to buy. It’s not about the caroling or the eggnog so nice. It’s not about the people that gather with the smiles and open gifts at random from some secret santa bag. It’s not Bout the lights or the tree or the jolly Christmas stockings. The celebration and the season is less of this and more of that…
That Babe born to Mary and Joseph made the dad of this adopted child not his own. It’s not about the making sure the that we count every gift. It’s about the ultimate gift. The Giftt of Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.
It’s about the Manger, the Cross and the Empty Tomb. It’s about the Savior Who came for me and you. It’s the gift of Mercy,. Forgiveness, and Truth…
The gift of the light of the world, That has come for me and you. It’s the gift that give keeps on give the gift that we can share, We can share him again and again. We can know peace and joy and love. We can have hope and faith. The God of heaven chose To send his only son. O Jesus is the reason for this season of giving.
Regardless of what we may be going through the Lord is present. If we believe and trust him even in the tough times we will fi d His strength ans provision is ours.
So, if the pickins are slim, The lights may seem dim, Remember, if you have Jesus, You have peace within. You have a joy that does not depend on circumstance. You have a hope that is enduring. The warmth that comes from knowing you belong….
You have the sense of knowing that Life is still good, Because the one who designed it all is your God and your Maker. He is also your Savior.
